Weingut Geyerhof

There was a time when Austrian wines were even more unfashionable than their German neighbours, but this is not so any more. It could be said their speciality grape, Grüner Veltliner, makes one of the first wines a sommelier will pencil into a new list. Weingut Geyerhof owners, Josef and Ilse Maier farm their land organically and use varied picking times and lees aging to create a portfolio with a range of characteristics: the Rosensteig is the lightest and most herbaceous, whilst the Hoher Rain is fruitier and riper.
