For generations the Poiron and Dabin families have grown vines in the Pays Nantais. There is even a solicitor’s deed relating to the sharing of parcels of vines in 1858 still in existence today. The two families came together through the marriage of Jean Poiron and Thérèse Dabin. Today their sons, Jean-Michel and Laurent Poiron, together with Jean-Michel’s wife Sandrine, manage 67 hectares of vines. Specialising in Muscadet, they use traditional winemaking techniques leaving the wine to rest on its bed of lees for 14 months. The results are superb: excellent flavour with wonderful, white flower and mineral aromas.
